As winter begins, here are some hints, reminders and information that Berth Holders and Renters might find helpful:

The automated reminder system for EWOF’s (Electrical Warrant of Fitness) and Boat Insurance is ready to launch. All you need to do is send through by post, email or in person your Boat Insurance and, if you ever want to plug in to shore power at the Marina, your EWOF certificates for marina staff to enter into the reminder system. If we don’t hear from you by the end of June, expect a friendly reminder.

The Total Marine services barge will be here in June/July to replace piles along the outside of A-E piers. Staff will update any boats/owners who might be required to shift during that period.

Splicing and Line checks will begin during the winter period. If you have any requirements, marina staff will take your order and get to work. Remember: between Dec 1st  2018 -April 1st  2019 please contact Gerry Jacobs from Norsand on 027 518 33 83 for your summer splicing needs.

A Defibrillator for the Marina has been installed in the doorway of the Marina Office entrance. To gain access to the life-saving unit, you must ring 111 and a code will be given over the phone to open the security lock. A very useful phone APP to download is “AED Locations “.

You may have noticed new signage around Tutukaka and Tutukaka Marina. Hopefully visitors and locals alike will enjoy the new look.

NRC, in conjunction with MPI, have completed a bi-annual check of boat hulls, piles and seabed surfaces. We are delighted to report that Tutukaka Marina has received the “all clear” for Mediterranean Fanworm. This is a direct result of the hard work of marina staff adhering to the “6 and 1 rule”: whereby a boat must have been anti-fouled within 6 months OR power-washed within 1 month of arrival into not only Tutukaka, but all Northland Marina’s.

Petroleum Logistics/Go Fuel will be replacing the existing Diesel and 91 Petrol Fuel tanks this winter. This is an important part in modernising the Tutukaka Marina Fuel jetty. The Marina office will keep users informed of any updates and notices while this work is being carried out.
